The bail plea of Christian Michel, an accused in AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal scam was dismissed by the Rouse Avenue Court, in Saturday in cases registered against him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Special Judge Arvind Kumar rejected Michel’s applications, saying there was no sufficient ground to grant the relief.
The CBI and ED asked for 20 days time to reply on the bail plea of the alleged “middleman.” The agencies’ representative said that as the accused has attached the copy of the judgement of the Italian court, so they need time fir its translation.

In his bail plea, Michel said, “he is in custody since the last nine months. The investigations against him are completed, so there is no need to keep him in custody. Italian court too has discharged him. So, he should be given bail.”
Michel, extradited from Dubai, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on December 22 last year.
On January 5, Michel was sent to judicial custody in the ED case. He is also lodged in judicial custody in the CBI case related to the scam.
Michel is among the three alleged middlemen being probed in the case by the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The others are Guido Haschke and Carlo Gerosa.
The CBI is investigating his alleged role as a “middleman” in Rs 3,600-crore deal, while the ED is probing money laundering charges against him.
